Zircon is known for its brilliance and flashes of multicoloured light, called fire. The gem’s double refraction means you can see twice as many facets, and it gets twice as much fire.

The most valuable colours in Zircon are blue, bright red, and green; but the stone occurs in an array of colours, from yellow to green, red, and blue hues.

With a hardness of 6 to 7,5 on the Mohs scale; Zircon is perfect for use in jewellery and daily wear.

The gem is thought to enhance sleep and promote riches, honour and wisdom.

Zircon is often confused with cubic zirconia; this is unfortunate as it is a beautiful natural gem with its own history. Zircon found in Australia is the oldest mineral on earth, 4.4 billion years old!
