About Tourmaline
Nicknamed the Rainbow Stone, Tourmaline’s colour ranges from rich reds to pastel pinks, intense emerald green and deep blues; giving Tourmaline one of the widest colour ranges of any gem.
With a hardness of 7 to 7,5 on the Mohs scale; Tourmaline is perfect for use in jewellery.
The gem’s name comes from the Sinhalese (a language of Sri Lanka) word ‘Turmalli’, which means “mixed gems.
Along with Opal, Tourmaline is the birthstone for October. The gem has a reputation for protecting against fear and jealousy while promoting creativity.
