About Amethyst
Known as the royal stone, amethyst is the purple variety of the mineral quartz. With a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale; amethyst is perfect for use in jewellery.
The name amethyst comes from a Greek root, amethystos, which literally means “not intoxicating,” based on the ancient belief that the stone could prevent drunkenness.
Amethyst is the birthstone for February, the gem is said to relieve stress and encourage stability and courage.

About Tanzanite
Tanzanite is the blue-to-violet variety of the mineral zoisite, with a hardness of 6 to 7 on the Mohs scale.
The gem was named tanzanite by Tiffany & Co to honour its sole origin country; Tanzania.
Along with zircon, the gem is the birthstone for December and symbolizes confidence, individuality, and prosperity.
Found in just one place on earth, the hills of Merelani in Tanzania, Tanzanite is a relatively recent discovery (1967).
